Why it isn't on Google's store
Flying the drone automatically requires DJI's development kit, and the version that supports the most common drones — the Mini 2 among them — does not meet a technical requirement Google introduced recently. It is the same reason DJI Fly, the app you probably already fly your drone with, is downloaded from DJI's website and not from the store. We would rather give you the app that works with the drone you own than a reduced version just to sit on a shelf.
What you need
- A recent Android phone (version 10 or later) with a few gigabytes free.
- A YumaFLY account: it takes a minute and gives you three trial surveys.
- For guided flight, a compatible DJI drone and its controller. For processing alone, not even that.
Which drones it works with
There are two ways to use YumaFLY, and the second one needs no particular drone.
- Flight guided by the app: DJI Mini 2, Mini SE, Mavic Mini, Air 2 and Air 2S, Mavic 2, Phantom 4 and the Matrice series. The app draws the route and the drone flies it on its own.
- Uploaded photographs: any drone of any make, and photographs taken by hand too. You fly the way you are used to, upload the photos, and the processing is identical, at the same cost.
Updates
The app checks for a new version by itself and tells you at start-up. You don't need to come back to this page: you download it once and that's it.
